After the terrible winter that the UK has seen over the past few months when will it come to an end so we can get back to playing a quiet 9 holes after work followed by a couple of beers?

Well, I am no weather man and would not predict that the weather will be any better in the next few months over our well know British summer but what I can do is dream of golf in the sunshine on freshly cut fairways and fast running greens.  So when I am done dreaming what am I going to do when the weather finally turns out good.

1, Practice – Not thoughts of good intention get out there and find the answer in the dirt.

2, Corporate golf events – When all the practice is done I have got to play more competitive golf.

3, Golf Holiday – If all else fails with the weather I am off to America so I am going to be visiting some of my favorite courses in the world.

I will try not to leave it so long before my next post, fingers crossed it will be about a day playing golf in the sun!!!

Westwood has just teed off in the 3rd round of the Dubai World Golf Championship playing alongside Ross McGowan. Westwood has hit a fantastic drive splitting the fairway but a poor approach shot leaves him with some work to do to try and save his par.

Westwood takes a two shot lead into today, will that be enough to keep the chasing pack of Mcllroy, Harrington and Villegas to name only a few golf superstars in the field at the Earth course in Dubai.

Lee Westwood is leading the way in the final event of the European Tour season at the Dubai World Championship after securing a second round 69. It is shaping up to be a hot weekend of golf in more way than one in the desert with current leader in the Race to Dubai Rory Mcllroy only two shots back tied with his fellow country man Padraig Harrington.

Each of the trio led at various parts of the second round but mistakes from Mcllroy and Harrington let Westwood in who picked up a couple of birdies late on to lead the way into the weekend. Allenby and McGowan are also in with a shot over the weekend but the real focus seems to be on Westwood and Mcllroy to see who takes the title in the first Race To Dubai.

The prestigious tournament is being played over the Earth Course designed by Greg Norman take a look at their website what a great destination that could be for a golf holiday to Dubai in 2010.
